Universal Studios Hollywood Celebrates 13th Annual Day of Giving

Universal Studios Hollywood’s “Discover a Star Foundation” philanthropic program celebrated the 13th Annual “Day of Giving” on Thursday, November 9.

Discover a Star Foundation “strives to foster positive change and impact the community through a variety of programs, in-kind donations, volunteerism.” The non-profit organization was founded in 1995 and have raised over $9 million, financially assisting over 65 other organizations

The Day of Giving event took place all over the LA area last Thursday, with Universal Studios Hollywood serving as the home base for Operation School Bell.

Operation School Bell hosted 50 homeless Los Angeles Unified School District students by supplying a variety of back to school items, such as backpacks, shoes, and new clothing. The students were given the opportunity to explore the theme park afterwards.

Throughout the Los Angeles area, Universal Studios Hollywood employees supported: AIDS Project LA, Downtown Women’s Center, Tree People, Union Station Homeless Services, and Shane’s Inspiration.

Discover a Star also supports the annual “Christmas in Spring” event at M.E.N.D. every year as part of its philanthropic message to promote goodwill to the community.
